Canton of Wallis

Through its three cantonal services, the Department of Economy and Education from the Canton of Wallis is offering young apprentices and students from Wallis the chance to take part in an international experience in China. The objective is to improve their competitiveness in the global labor market.
The Service of Education (Service de l’enseignement) ensures the coordination of educational policies by working closely with local and communal authorities. It is responsible for compulsory schooling, specialized education, and general secondary school education.
The Service of Professional Training (Service de la formation professionnelle) is responsible for apprenticeships, advanced professional training, and continued training.
The Service of Superior Schools (Service des hautes écoles) operates in the entire tertiary education sector (universities and university institutes, federal institutes of technology, universities of applied sciences, superior schools). Its goals are the strengthening of education, research, and innovation.
The Department of Economy and Education wants to offer young apprentices and students from Wallis an immersion in one of the world’s largest economies while promoting the Swiss educational system.
Canton of Vaud

International mobility and language learning represent a “passport to the future” for apprentices. It is therefore a priority for the Department of Education, Youth, and Culture of the Canton of Vaud. In that way, the ICL CUP participants are young professionals representing their region as ambassadors in China.
The canton of Vaud is the third largest of the Swiss cantons by population and fourth by size. It is located in the French-speaking western part of the country and borders Lake Geneva. The capital and biggest city is Lausanne, officially designated "Olympic Capital" by the International Olympic Committee and hosts many international sports organizations.
Republic and Canton of Neuchâtel

The Office for Post-Compulsory Education and Career Guidance of the Republic and Canton of Neuchâtel wishes to encourage young people to gain international experience to stand out in the labor market or enrich their academic curriculum, bring added value to the economic actors of the canton, and develop on a personal and professional level.
The economic fabric of the canton of Neuchâtel is very rich and the presence of many innovative companies, coupled with a high level of training, generates a broad pool of skills at all levels.
The Office for Post-Compulsory Education and Career Guidance of the Republic and Canton of Neuchâtel and ICL have already been collaborating for several years, programmes include the Neuchâtel@Shanghai project which has allowed close to thirty young people from Neuchâtel to discover China.

Affolter Group

The Affolter group is taking part in the ICL Cup in order to promote training in the technical trades. In its capacity as a training company employing 22 apprentices, the Affolter group is strongly committed to training professionals in mechanics, micromechanics and profile-turning. Adding an international dimension to the training already offered represents a key factor in attracting students to learn these skills. The Affolter group also has a company in Shanghai, China.
The Affolter Group is an industrial company based in Malleray, Canton of Jura Bernois, Switzerland. It was founded by Louis Affolter in 1919, and now employs about 170 people. The company is specialized in manufacturing high-end watchmaking timekeeping mechanisms and high precision gear cutters for watchmaking, micromechanics, automotive, and aeronautic industries.
Banque Cantonale de Genève

The Banque Cantonale de Genève has a tradition of promoting young people's training and offers a particularly large number of apprenticeships and traineeships for many students and young professionals during their academic career. The bank serves the Geneva economy which, year after year, has been weaving ever stronger links with China, and so it is only natural for the BCGE to continue this same movement. Giving young people greater opportunities to understand China's economy is consistent with the ongoing commitment of the bank.
Established in the city centre of Geneva from the outset, the Banque Cantonale de Genève (BCGE) was created from the merger between the Caisse d'Epargne (Savings Bank), founded in 1816 and the Banque hypothécaire (Mortgage Bank), set up in 1847. For many years now, it has had a presence in Zurich and Lausanne but also abroad via the Banque Cantonale de Genève (France) SA entity or its representative offices in Hong Kong and Dubai.

Founded in 1933, the CNCI (Neuchâtel Chamber of Commerce and Industry) is a private and independent employer’s association of the state including nearly 1'000 member companies, active mainly in the industrial and service sectors.
The CNCI aims at creating the best possible business conditions in Neuchâtel, especially for education, technology transfer, and business networking. It also plays an important role of neutral intermediary and trust between customs administrations and private companies in all matters relating to foreign trade.
The CNCI supports the ICL-Cup because it gives the opportunity to very young talents in our member companies to experience everyday life and work abroad and to create relationships with other young people in China.
